Year 9 Day 295
After many years of membership in the Confederacy of Independent Systems, today the Corporate Alliance filed a petition in the CIS Senate to formally leave the Confederacy
The relationship between the Alliance and the Confederacy has been on rocky ground for the past year. After the absorption of most of the Alliance capital into the Trade Federation, and the change in leadership late in Year 7, the Alliance and the CIS have not seen eye to eye, with the Corporate Alliance breaking most ties to start anew in Year 8.
After Siejo Kutol assumed control of the Corporate Alliance mid-Year 9, he partitioned the Confederacy to allow the Corporate Alliance to stay in the CIS as a full member and not just as an Affiliate, as it was regarded by most of the Confederate seniority. With a few key concerns on stability and benefit, the motion was denied after long debate. The Confederacy of Independent Systems then allied with the Imperial Union, leaving the Corporate Alliance in a strange spot, being just an Affiliate
The Alliance looked to the outside, and joined up with the Nautolan Society. The Society, run by Mr. Kutol, stands for peace and justice, especially for aquatic races. The strong value system matched up well with the Corporate Alliance, as most of the new members were of Aquatic Races. A treaty was signed, and the two factions became partners, offering mutual support. The Corporate Alliance plans to transport its headquarters to Dolomar, the Nautolan Society capital, where operations will be overseen until a new HQ can be established outside of the CIS-controlled Glythe sector.
While not a true CIS member, the Corporate Alliance still sees itself as a friend to the Confederates and their cause, and looks to doing business with them in the future.
