Year 11 Day 60
While on a general scouting mission searching neighboring systems for security threats, an Alliance Security lieutenant noticed a local report that a planet in the system she was in, Mitillian, had recently forced out their local leadership and the planet was independent. The recruit, on orders from the Alliance Leadership, flew down and made contact with the local populous and met with their leaders. The Alliance Soldier, with authority from the Alliance Directorate, negotiated a treaty with the local leaders, which would establish the Alliance as their ruling government. The Alliance promised security and safety for those living on Mitillian, as well as economic stimulus from the increase in trade that the Corporate Alliance can bring. With the treaty in place, the Alliance sent multiple teams to Mitillian. The teams made their way around the planet, laying claim to land, material deposits and meeting with the local Mitillianeons. Teams were dispatched to all ends of the planet with orders to erect the needed shield generators to keep the planet safe. Directorate members preached the Alliances effectiveness and were surprised at just how easy this all seemed to occur. Unfortunately, everything was not as it seemed.
While the Alliance was working in the north with the local populous establishing the treaty, some mercenary groups, sneaking in under the Alliances watch, established a colony in the deep south, and made an agreement with the local sentient life there to represent them on the Galactic scale. This became evident when Alliance scanning teams found the Merc land claims in the south. Alliance teams worked day and night to combat the spread of Merc control, meeting them along one of the southern latitude lines and trapping them in the south. Unknown to the Alliance security teams, the Merc team doubled back around and moved up around behind the Alliance team, making agreements with the local people which gave them about 20% of the planet. Meanwhile, the Alliance was working in the middle of the planet, and managed to collect about 60% of the planet control. Other random mercenary groups and freelance groups arrived in the north and claimed some land there, leaving most of the world claimed. The Alliance Chief Magistrate soon met with the leaders of the Merc groups and word out a tentative treaty. The Alliance would get the equator of the planet, as well as much of the north territories, as long as the Alliance handed over it southern holdings to the merc group. A treaty was written up and signed by both parties. One key point in the treaty was that both groups had to, at any point in time, grant access to the planet through their individual shields to the other group, and a strict environmental act that restricted the building of large industrial areas. All would be kept in the open, and neither group would cross into the others territory. As long as this was the case, peace would resume
