Spectres Disbanded

Terrorist Attack Lead by Rouge Spectre Thwarted

Year 18 Day 197

Yesterday, Confederate Second Fleet was mobilized to Leon Spacedock after reports surfaced of an imminent terrorist attack. Forces were notified when Overseer Kova noticed a discrepancy on a shipment order and notified the Government. Armed with countless crates of stolen explosives, stolen from the Corporate Alliance in the recent coup and Sprectre access codes granted to them by Shall Ti, were intersected quickly. There was a brief firefight, leading to the death of many of the militants. Some were captured and taken to a classified location for interrogation. The CIS Government was quick to respond to the attack, claiming it work of a splinter group of the once proud Alliance Spectre Program.  Initial Witnesses interviewed for this story recognize the Spectre Armor warn by the militants.  This seems to confirm the Governments position.  Additionally, there was a report leaked to the press that Spectre Agent Lopez was killed in the firefight.  In response, the Government announced an immediate disbandment of the organization and requested all agents report to the Head of State for private debriefing.

The Spectre Program was founded by the Corporate Alliance Directorate over 10 years ago in response to the betrayal of Adoy Baba. Expertly trained and given an unprecedented level of security clearance to help streamline investigations and justice. Initially, it was a huge success. Members were given code names to allow complete anonymity with investigations. The security strike lead by Ghost, Doomsday and Redhawk on Mitillian were vital to the success of that war. Spectres were hailed as heroes.

Four years ago, Former Spectre Vladimir Mercury, known as Redhawk, used his access codes to reprogram much of the Alliance battle droids to invade Cularin in pursuit of personal vengeance. This attack lead to the disappearance of Siejo Kutol and expulsion of Mercury from the Specre Program. Shall Ti was then made leader of the Spectres. His recent betrayal and defection to the Zann Consortium was just another hit on the organization. With the recent attacks and collapse of the Alliance, disbandment appears to be the right move.
