Haven returns to the Alliance, Filling Void left by Cularin SpaceNav
Year 21 Day 291
Resource management throughout Confederate Space has been in flux after surprise collapse of Cularin SpaceNav several weeks ago. Trace Magus, leader of CSN and part of the inner circle of the InterSteller League, disappeared from his office and had not been heard of. Some feared he may have been kidnapped or even killed. Word from Confederate leadership had been pretty scarce, with some suggesting he was merely on vacation. That idea seemed to be far fetched once the Debtors arrived to disband CSN after a lack of response to their inquiries
This left the Confederate leadership reeling, not just to try to reassign all functional mines but also to try to secure Confederate goods that had been under the direct control of CSN. Temporarily relying on Sprizen Mineral Holdings, a member of the Cybot Galatica conglomerate, the group was able to minimize the bleeding. Word of a more permanent solution came yesterday via the galactic flash news.
It was announced that the Haven Corporation would be rejoining the Confederacy of Independent Systems. Haven has a long standing relationship with the CIS, both as a member-state and nationalized faction. Originally a founding CIS member, Haven has spent the more recent years working with the Trade Federation on their recycling projects after a failed stent under then leader Squall Tigroe. Kran Chan, once an expert in excavation for the Mining Guild, was tapped to take over control of Haven and work to build their mining business. The group publicly set a goal to provide materials at a lower price than competition. We will have to wait and see if they are able to meet this lofty goal. Haven will also continue its recycling endeavors, taking command of the CIS recycling equipment.
Not everyone in the organization was thrilled with the announcement. Some of the leadership interviewed, asking to be kept anonymous, was frustrated by the announcement. There was concern about Haven and their loyalty. Many asked why Haven should be given another chance at the alliance when they had mismanaged funds and assets in the past. Leadership has yet to commend on our inquiry into the matter.
