Another Outer Rim Sector Adopts Articles of Confederation

Nijune Sector Declared Sovereign Confederate Space

Year 21 Day 296

The Galactic Political Maps around the Known Galaxy will need to be adjusted again after news of another sector falling under the jurisdiction of the Confederacy of Independent Systems.  The Zrak Sector, the only charted system in the Nijune Sector, is the latest system to join the Seperatist movement.   Previously uncharted, Zrak seems to be continuing a trend of smaller independent colonies in the Outer Rim Systems to align the CIS.

Nijune Sector

Known only for a silly childhood poem involving a native being stuck in a crack, Zrak only recently joined the galaxy at large.  An unnamed smuggler had become stranded on the planet after his yt-760 freighter had been damaged in a nearby asteroid cloud.  While making repairs, the smuggler was able to befriend the local Heep-Heep, a reptilian species of simple sentients. Once the ship was repaired, the smuggler left the system and headed to the nearest open port, located in the Binqauros System, not far from the Zrak System.  Several Heep-Heepians went with him on the journey, excited to learn of the galaxy as a whole.  It was there that they were greeted by representatives from the Confederacy.

After overcoming a language barrier with a protocol droid, the CIS diplomats promised to supply the backwater planet with technology and infrastructure in return for a pledge of loyalty.  The Heep-Heep, who were awestruck by the entire experience, agreed and signed the initial documentation placing Zrak under Confederate jurisdiction.

Rumors of a High Priority Outer Rim project spread quickly throughout the logistics lounges throughout CIS space.  Word had it that Chairman Kutol, dispatched from another high priority mission in the Thesme Sector, had boarded the Colossal Heavy Cruiser KVetch’s Itch to personally lead the initial emissary team with the first round of promised supplies.  They are set to arrive on Day 297 and begin the initial efforts to modernize the system.
