Red Dawn on Zrak

Year 23, Day 41

Zrak, home to the Heep-Heep have once again made headlines as it turned out that a local election was held without any of the Confederate officials knowing about it. As a result of this, an unlikely new Governor has been installed, at the insistence of the Heep-Heep to represent them in all official planetary-wide issues.

Whilst developments on Zrak have been continuing, local Confederate officials were unaware of a ritual that takes place every 10 years where local Heep-Heepians pull out colored cloths from a sacred basket and whichever color they pick represents the color of their political group which then jostles with the other colored groups for primary dominance.

This rather simplistic and intriguing process went unnoticed by officials from the Confederacy who thought that the increase in disagreements amongst the locals was yet due to another issue relating to something migrant workers might have done to offend local tribes. However, a new color entered into the political sphere that locals had never seen before, the color red.

On a visit to the planet Zrak, former Syndic of the Chiss Ascendancy-now turned business owner, Truse’vala’ilone arrived to survey land areas for new deposits for his company, the Scrapper Guild. Sevala, as he is informally known, is often sporting a white shirt and red tie. The color red in local Chiss culture relates to The Red Flame. Often seen as a religion by more conservative Chiss, the Red Flame is an ideal state of perfection, represented by cunning, courage, discipline and a state of preparedness and those within the Chiss community that adhere to these principles are often seen wearing something red.

The confusion in this new color, combined with the planetary travels of Sevala was mistakenly seen as a new political group canvassing for supporters amongst the local tribes in more hard to reach areas. With the use of Groundhogs and FK-7’s, combined with other ships, it gave the impression of superiority amongst those wanting to see something new and so many abandoned their previously held colors and began adopting the color red, taking anything they could to show their support of this new color.

Truse’vala’ilone wins the Zrak elections and becomes Governor

As a result, Truse’vala’ilone won an election he knew nothing about. Upon arrival back at the local Confederate palace, he was greeted by local Heep-Heep’s who presented many offerings to him, mainly around fertility as a sign of respect for his new role. Once local officials of the Confederacy understood the situation, discussions were had between the CIS and Sevala and it was agreed that he remain Zrak’s new Governor if it helped to maintain the peace from an otherwise rowdy species.

Sevala, and by extension the Scrapper Guild have now been given administrative control of the Zrak System and the Nijune Sector. Local Heep-Heepians have settled down under this new crimson era of political change and Sevala is said to be adjusting to his new position as the planet’s Governor. Confederate officials and political advisors have been dispatched by the Confederate government to offer support and help Sevala navigate the tumultuous and often fickle nature of politics.
