Year 23 Day 329
Zrak – Nijune Sector
This month, celebrations were held in Zrak to mark the growth of the planet to 1 billion citizens of the Confederacy. Governed by the Scrapper Guild, the former Governor Truse’vala’ilone promised to safeguard the system and develop it into a jewel for the Confederacy and this promise has been fulfilled.
Almost 1 year on, the planet has become a hive of industry and services, not only supporting itself but also nearby sectors and companies as it became the go-to destination for new businesses to grow and develop their own industries within the galaxy.
However it has not been without controversy. Allegations of forced migrations of Chagrians from the Bogden Sector to Zrak and dismantling and insulting local Heep-Heep customs and breaking political pledges have surfaced amidst the backdrop of these celebrations. Commenting on this, Ondoron Bondoon, currently leader of the Scrapper Guild and once voted Kothlis’ most eligible bachelor, was recently quoted as saying “Many Chagrians died to help us grow Zrak into the planet it is today. Disenfranchised, homeless, often without any family back on Champala, these young Chagrians were looking for a purpose. Thankfully they found it as we removed all predatory threats from Zrak, all those Draigons, Cyeens and Dianoga’s were not making the planet safe at all.”
the Heep-Heep, four legged natives of Zrak, welcomed the Confederacy with open arms several years ago. While some members of the proud race have welcomed the technological advancement, there are some who feel pushed aside. One local elder of a Heep-Heep tribe that wanted to remain anonymous was quite angry at the situation, “We were promised political power on the basis of red ties, and now we see this Truse’vala’ilone wearing a GOLD tie! He is literally flaunting his lack of support for the red tie party that helped him secure his mandate!” After catching up with Truse’vala’ilone who was found on Morobe about to board a shuttle to the Thesme system, questions were asked about these accusations.
“Listen, we all have to make sacrifices and hard decisions when managing the brave citizenry of the Confederacy. Yes, I wear a gold tie, having converted to Vorsian Orthodoxy and spending considerable time here, it became apparent what my life choices had done. So to help support the Heep-Heeps, we have given out red tinted glasses and now every tie, regardless of color, is a red tie. We have literally helped to create an accepting and progressive society on Zrak, we are no longer seeing color as a barrier to progress!”
One can only hope, with the rose colored glasses, all citizens can feel included. Tensions are sure to be high as locals prepare the annual celebration of the Sacred Tree.
