Volume 5 – Year 25
This week, reports surfaced that the Ministry of Health (MoH) have been raiding small alazhi farms in the southern territories after it emerged their primary farms in Hassaria ran dry without anyone within the Ministry noticing.
Officials looking on have called for an investigation, with a view of holding those responsible to account. However senior members of the Ministry of Health are claiming that the Free Hassaria Movement (FHM) were to blame for the disruption to their supply lines.
The FHM are an entirely droid driven political party that have grown since it became apparent that one of their own, a battle droid, was vying for political power to govern Hassaria. Local sentients, who are members of the Green Glasses political party though have been quick to dismiss the droid movement, citing legal issues of having artificial intelligence govern a planet of the Confederacy. Despite the concerns and threats of legal action, recent polling suggests that the battle droid will become Governor of Hassaria III.
Conspiracy theories have been trending on HyperCom suggesting that the disruption is part of a bigger plot to drive out sentients from the system by disrupting Alazhi production, with droids quietly quitting from their autonomous tasks in the Alazhi fields.
The MoH has been in the news quite a bit as of late, first with concerning reports with the roll out of the state sponsored health program and later was the feature topic of a Deep Dive episode (Link), but the more recent reports have been rather positive. Satisfaction scores and outcomes have all improved in the last quarter. Gossip was able to speak to Dr. Cranesco Tonvecem on the recent improvements. “While it’s true, the Ministry has been in the news quite a bit,” Dr. Tonvecem said, “I have full faith in Pat Kil’astra and his ability to lead us through these challenges. He is the best doctor I know.” He finished the interview with the following statement, “as far as I am concerned, We have everything under control with the bacta supply. Give it a week or two and the supply will be replaced .” He declined to comment on the rumors of droid interference.
While there is no direct evidence of FHM involvement in the Alazhi shortage, one has to wonder it will mean for the Green Glasses Party if the FHM continues to gain influence. Could we be looking at the demise of the Green Glasses Party? Stay tuned!
