Year 26 Day 82
As colony expansion continues in the Prindaar System, a surprising turn of events rocked the streets of a small community on the planet Antar.
In the early hours of the day, a series of explosions shook an industrial town near the planet’s equator. Within moments, seven of the city’s factories had collapsed, leaving hundreds of panicked workers flooding into the streets. Some brave workers managed to save some produced vehicles, but the factories however were left completely destroyed. Unbeknownst to many on the larger galactic scale, these factories had apparently been inactive for some time, and have been used for housing for those displaced by the recent expansion on the planet. Many of these now, homeless refugees, we’re staying in the factories as they await the construction of their new homes. While the cost regarding the loss of resources is likely to be very large, reports show no casualties. Onsight workers quickly stepped in, using their BFF freighters to start immediate evacuations of the injured.

Some suspect foul play. While the factory city had been marked for demolition, with plans for a large complex of high rises planning to take their place, the control demolition was not even officially scheduled yet. Is it possible that a terrorist group could have something to do with the tragedy that befell the unexpecting Antarians? Perhaps the EVS droids, on site for the expected demolition near the end of the year, were sabotaged? With none of the local terrorist groups, taking credit for the explosion, it’s unclear who may have done this and what their purpose would be. Several unconfirmed reports did find several large cashes of battle droid crates located in neighboring cities. It’s unclear if this has anything to do with the event.

Several news outlets have reached out to the office of the Magistrate of the Middle for comment but have only heard radio silence in return. The Magistrate of the Middle is responsible for coordination of operations in the central region of the separate alliance, but is rarely heard from publicly. This raises the question in regards to whether the Office of the Magistrate is even active and questions their overall knowledge of the expansion operation, nicknamed Popping-Prindaar. Some are even so bold as to ask a more serious question” Who is the Magistrate of the Middle?
Unexpectedly, there was a swift response from a member of a different political party. BD-17206 “Munch”, a battle droid, was seen on the ground providing humanitarian aid. Munch is running for office in a planet in the southern region, days away from Antar. It is unclear how this droid arrived so quickly, and why they were in the region at all.
The Automation Unity Party’s (AUP), which Munch is affiliated with, released a statement later in the day: “Our interest is for the betterment of the entire confederate community, organic or inorganic. Seeing the suffering of the little guy due to the oppression of the constant expansion of industrialization, we had planned to send support packages to those who were forced to live inside those factories while they awaited more suitable housing. This was simply a case of being in the right place at the right time.”
Several critics, likely on the payroll of the Green Glasses Party, have been critical of the AUP. Could this be a play for the office of the Magistrate of the Middle? Stay tuned.
