Today it was announced that, due to faction restrictions and constraints, the Confederacy of Independent Systems was officially dissolved today. The faction, owned and operated by the commerce giant Trade Federation was little more then a shell in the weeks leading up to dissolution. Many of the independent groups who had been part of the Confederacy for years have been leaving due to strained relations with other groups. Some of the factions who have close relation with the Trade Federation, like the Techno Union and Commerce Guild have already signed treaties to continue to work close with the Trade Federation, while other smaller groups like the Corporate Alliance are left without a home. The future will only tell how this decision will work out, but some reports are already coming out about small militant groups claiming the CIS name. While reports on this and whether or not these groups will be recognized by the Federation Government are not clear, what is clear is that for now the Trade Federation and its Nationalized factions are breaking out on their own and leaving their CIS days behind them.
